Jewelry Care

Every piece of PinePetalPlume jewelry is a slow-made work of art, meticulously hand-woven line-by-line using delicate thread, premium Japanese glass beads, and studio-forged metals. Because these materials are fine and fluid, treating them with a little extra gentleness ensures they remain beautiful and tarnish-resistant for years to come.

Please use the following guidelines to care for your wearable treasures:
Wearing Your Jewelry

The Golden Rule: Your jewelry should always be the last thing you put on in the morning and the first thing you take off at night.

Avoid Cosmetics: Apply all perfumes, hairsprays, lotions, and makeup completely before putting on your earrings. The chemicals in beauty products can dull the brilliant finish of metallic glass beads and accelerate metal tarnish.

Keep it Dry: Never wear your hand-woven jewelry while showering, swimming, or exercising. Water and sweat can weaken the structural integrity of the weaving thread over time.

Storage & Handling

Store Flat or Hanging: To maintain the crisp, fluid drape of your brick-stitch, peyote, or loom-woven earrings, store them hanging up or lying completely flat. Tossing them loosely into a cluttered jewelry box can bend the fringe or warp the thread tension.

Avoid Direct Sunlight: Prolonged exposure to intense, direct sunlight can fade certain delicate glass bead pigments over time. Store your pieces in a cool, dry place away from open windows.

Cleaning the Precious Metals

24k Gold-Filled & .925 Sterling Silver: Both of our premium metal findings are hypoallergenic and tarnish-resistant. If your earring hooks or jump rings begin to look dull after heavy wear, gently wipe them down with a soft, dry microfiber jewelry polishing cloth.

Protect the Beadwork: Never submerge the woven portion of your earrings into liquid jewelry cleaners or harsh chemicals, as this will permanently damage the glass coatings and thread.
